By way of a tribute to Stephen Gately of Boyzone, who has sadly passed away. I post this photo of him. Taken in June at the Arena Newcastle. Seem strange that he look so fit here and now he has gone. May god be with him.

I had a day out today and the subject of this photo had me day dreaming. This old Mercedes – Benz fire engine reminded me of my childhood dream of being a fireman. Things that might of been ? Well I’m still here trying to work out my free photo website and this blogging thing, hoping the format of this one works out better than the others

A few more pictures now added to my free download site. All photos are free to download and to use. No spam or registration required. Sometimes it seems to be a lot of hard work for nothing. Other times it is as it should be and I do derive a great deal of pleasure from my photos especially when someone downloads a few. I hope that some of you do take a while to view them and download some

I chose this photo for todays post for its humour. The subject has just sat on a wet surface whist at an open air swimming pool. Aptly titled wet pants. A larger image can be downloaded here. All my free photos can be used by you for any purpose except direct financial gain. That is the item that you sell is not the image or the main part.

Free photos and pictures to download for all to use and abuse ? Why not? Many of us who have had plenty of practice in clicking our cameras, box Brownie or Nikon, have always been more than happy to bore anyone who cared to see our beloved works.

Then came the internet, digital cameras, free editing suites, such as gimp that blows the socks of of any darkroom. Add to this the fact that film and developing cost have disappeared. Why is it that most of us now want paying for our pictures?

True that we all need extra cash these days, but, unless you really are David Bailey, it is unlikely that you will get rich selling your photographs. The real pleasure in photography is pleasing the eyes of others and occaisionally stirring them emotionally, which for me is what every shot should do for someone. The one that stirs everyone is the one that says you are David Bailey!

You would probably do better financially with a few google ads on your site and a paypal donate button. So get back to basics and do your thing for pleasure and free….more to follow

The weather seems to be drawing in ready for winter. So I thought that I would post this photo taken in the spring.
